The Blue Horizon story
Blue Horizon Holidays has its roots in the mid-90s, when founder Geoff Monk opened his first travel agency in Nottinghamshire under the name Blue Horizon Travel. Within a couple of years, he joined the Global Travel Group, gaining ATOL protection and the security of trust accounts for clients.
As the internet transformed the industry, Geoff shifted his focus to European coach touring holidays for international visitors, launching globalcoachtours.com and building a successful business that flourished for over 20 years. The company became Global Coach Tours Ltd and remains part of the Global Travel Group, benefiting from strong partnerships and favourable terms with leading travel providers.
By 2025, with AI reshaping how people search online, Geoff decided to return to what he values most: personal, face-to-face relationships with travellers. Now based in Cornwall with his wife Sue, living between Padstow and Wadebridge, he continues to help clients create memorable holidays with the same care, expertise, and personal touch that started it all. We've come full circle and are using the original logo for Blue Horizon. We sometimes wonder if we were first UK travel agency to get an email address.

Great Britain tour
Visited August 2023I and my husband had the 7day Great Britain tour through Global Coach Tours from August 20th to August26th 2023. Geoff , you are a fantastic person who was there to answer my every phone call even in the weekends! I had lots of questions before booking the tour but the way you handled my questions gave me an extra trust to say that the vacation would be perfect. Sure it was and we just got home today with tons of beautiful memories . Even the crew on the bus , the driver Tony and our Tour Team Leader Jemma were perfect professionals who were looking after us very well. I wouldn’t be hesitant to recommend Global Coach Tours to others. The food and hotels were great as well.
Great Britain and Classic Europe combo tour
Visited September 2023Geoff of GlobalCoachTours is a great agent. He was very responsive over the months before our trip, and his ideas of places to go and where to stay before and after our bus tour were spot on — even helped us solve a late unannounced change to our bus itinerary. These extra suggestions really made our vacation special (around the more hectic and regimented bus tour which was still well worth it). And surprisingly Global’s prices were actually less than those quoted directly on that tour company’s site — odd, but welcomed.
England and Scotland Heritage

Copenhagen to Helsinki Christmas & New Year
Visited December 2024The tour itinerary was well researched with a great balance of historical, cultural and natural sites. The local tour guides were likewise very conversant and delivered great narratives on their localities. The tour leader, Inga, was a great manager and could easily make adjustments when situations call for it. She gives great and honest tips on where to go, what to buy, etc. her driver Victor, was a great service provider loading and arranging our luggage beyond his call of duty. It was an unforgettable experience!!
